I Can Work around Obtrusive Photographers

This little video speaks for itself pretty well but let me hasten to point out that this couple LIKED the media blitz and nobody seemed bothered by it. The material point is that I can work around pretty much anyone because of the way I use multiple cameras. Don't believe this is was real wedding? Click here to be convinced .

It works both ways! I can't even begin to count the number of shots that would have captured the true emotion and love of the day except for a videographer getting in the way.

Please, oh, please email me a picture of an obtrusive videographer! I would LOVE to add those to my blog!

    I could mail you some;)

Seriously-people who shoot like this are a true disservice to our profession!! We shoot about 20 weddings per yr and have never ever done anything like this. Appalling. It is a religious ceremony, for God's Sake!

    Hi Carol,

Even as a photographer I couldn't help but laugh at that vid ... hilarious! Glad the B&G didn't mind!

I think if a B&G are going to have a videographer then they need a 'traditonal photographer' ... i.e. one who only does "posed" photographs.

Personally, if a B&G had a videographer booked before hiring me as photographer I would refuse the booking.

Great video it cracks me up!

As a photographer I was a bit out of my mind when our priest said no photography during the ceremony... he would have had a heart attack on the spot if these guys worked my wedding.

As for the videographer in a million and one shots...I have a bunch from several weddings but the best one I have is when they were lighting the candles and I just snapped one shot and the next shot the videographer was right next to bride and groom getting an over head shot... I wanted to throw something at his head when I mentioned it to him afterwards and he said... "oh I thought you were finished shooting them-- I saw you snap the picture".

I pride myself on my work but.. I always make sure to get a back up shot on something like that. Let me know if you want a copy of the shot... I want to use it someday as a what not to do manual.

I thought the video was very funny. Not only obtrusive but if I was the audience I would have been annoyed and if I was the B&G I would have been yelling. I really thought the formal shorts she was wearing was very tacky. Great edit on the video btw.

Photographers, you don't need to be in the wedding just record the wedding for crying out loud.

I would like to see those guys do some wild bear or lion shots.

You photogs are funny...do you really think videographers are in some way obtrusive? Or perhaps you don't want to be caught on tape interupting the service with your constant moving around, clacking shutters and brilliant flashes.

It would be fine with me if there weren't a photographer.

I agree, it works both ways. Just 2 days ago I photographed a wedding where videographer was also present. He was pretty annoying during the church ceremony and I probably lost a few good shots, but afterwards it was OK. At party we both had space to move around and stay out of each other way.

We will use the same DVD box for the couple (I make the wood box with engraved plaque), where both photos and video are together.

Actually that's a good idea to think about - maybe it would be easier for me if I didn't shoot a wedding where videographer is also present. Then I just can't do my best.

But yes, video is absolutely hilarious!
